Haiti is in great distress but we will continue to Act in Faith.
As you may know, the Haitian people have been experiencing an increase in civil unrest and violence. Gangs have taken hold of most of Port au Prince, the capital. The current president and foreign countries have pushed for a transitional council to be established prior to elections. Many Haitians are now homeless, facing starvation, sickness and an uncertain future.
Our school in Rodaille is in a remote place far from Port au Prince. The school is open right now but there is always the possibility that the unrest will spread and have a greater impact on our students and teachers. We will keep you updated as the situation changes.
Our Executive Director, and her husband Joseph are currently in the U.S. and our capable administrators are taking care of running the school in her absence.
